Penetration Testing
Identifying vulnerabilities through controlled offensive techniques — web apps, networks, and infrastructure using Kali Linux and industry-standard tools.
B.S. Cybersecurity · TSTC Waco, TX
Cybersecurity professional specializing in penetration testing, network defense, and digital forensics. Protecting systems. Thinking like an attacker.
Background
I'm Preston Brigando, a cybersecurity student and professional based in Waco, Texas, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at TSTC. I specialize in the intersection of offensive and defensive security — finding weaknesses before adversaries do.
My academic foundation covers ethical hacking, cryptography, penetration testing, incident response, and secure software development. I approach every challenge with methodical curiosity — understanding systems from the inside out.
Outside the terminal, I run hands-on lab environments, participate in CTF competitions, and build projects that bridge security awareness with real-world application.
Expertise
Identifying vulnerabilities through controlled offensive techniques — web apps, networks, and infrastructure using Kali Linux and industry-standard tools.
Configuring firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and monitoring traffic for anomalies and intrusion signatures with Wireshark and SIEM platforms.
Applied knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, PKI, TLS/SSL, and secure communications protocols aligned with CompTIA Security+ standards.
Evidence collection, memory analysis, disk imaging, and timeline reconstruction following security incidents and breaches.
Python and Bash scripting for security tooling, log parsing, vulnerability scanning automation, and custom exploit development.
Structured containment, eradication, and recovery procedures for security events, following NIST and SANS incident response frameworks.
Deploying and managing virtualized homelab environments with VMs and LXC containers for isolated security testing, malware analysis, and network simulation.
